Wine Review: Rascal Pinot Noir

This week it is Rascal Pinot Noir from Oregon’s Willamette Valley. The wine is all pinot noir. It is nice and light, though technically medium bodied. If a cold white or rosé isn’t your jam, this is great for a warm summer evening. You could even chill this one slightly. It is a little juicy, tasting very berry. Which berries? Definitely some cherry which adds to the summer vibe. Just in case you are wondering, I didn’t get much in the way of smoky, woodsy, or earthy notes or undertones. This is a straight forward pinot. All in all, it was pretty good. But is it as good as Peeno Noir from Titus?

I picked up this bottle at Bowery and Vine (the MOST AWESOME folks work in the shop). It was only $14.99 and they deliver to parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Many people ask how wine isn’t vegan by nature. Click here for the explanation. Barnivore is a great source for the more common wines which I never find at my local and carefully curated favorite wine shops.
